I’ve been juicing much more frequently since I started watching your videos, and I feel great. No more chugging coffee to keep me going.

Thank you Dan ~ I drink 2 qts. of GS daily and now thanks to your videos, I’m adding a quart of green juice too.
Another question - what are your thoughts on spirulina & chlorella? I add both to my GS…

it’s best to keep your food (fruit/vegetables) at room temp. Unless you’ve only used half of the fruit…
July 23rd, 2009 at 5:08 pm
I like chlorella and and spirulina! Great amino acids…

I havent heard you mention coconut kefirs or fermented foods like sauerkraut or kim chee, etc. What is your opinion on these? Do you take probiotics?
July 24th, 2009 at 12:56 am
I do not take probiotics or eat fermented foods at this time. I am not a fan personally of probiotics but if you feel like they benefit you you should use them.

Hey Dan you always inspire me…I have a Breville juicer too but I find I’m wasting the greens because that juicer is not very efficient on kale and the like…Carrots, celery, apples, no prob., but greens…I don’t know, it seems I’m just shredding them and getting very little in return. Do you find this, too?
July 31st, 2009 at 10:49 pm
Yes it is true you do not get much from leafy greens like kale n stuff but i still find that it works good enough, but you could make the juice and blend in the leafies!
Love, Dan

Dear Sir
I have a Breville juicer too and it doesn’t juice soft vegetables too well. But you can save the pulp and make a soup out of it.

adi
you are correct , and actually No Centrifugal Juicer, which is what the Breville is, are designed or intended to Juice Leafy Greens.
Dan is right in that its Adequate and will do the Job, but if you want the ‘ ideal’ extraction from Leafy greens you need a Twin gear Juicer, or as he suggested just throw em in the Vitamix and strain out with a Nut mylk bag
Ebay has cheap used 2 gear juicers and vitamix machines in Great condition

A technique I have discovered is, if you ball the greens up tight so they barely fit in the feeder you get a lot more juice out of them. and a slow feed speed as well.

I bought a Green Power twin gear juicer last year and have tried to use it as often as possible but it’s just such a hassle to use and clean. Watching Dan the Man inspired me to buy a breville(950W) at the weekend and boy am I glad I did. So much nicer to use. I just read on Jason Vale’s website that he recommends packing leafy greens in between hard fruits or veggies to get better extraction so will try that later tonight. Peace.

@richiemonster3
i agree, the twin gear machines are excellent with greens of course, but they are a NIGHTMARE to clean and very time consumption .
Dan is the man
